Plus & Pro

Paid plans for shieldcn. Public badges are free forever; Plus adds saved READMEs, mass migration, and AI, and Pro adds managed brands, hosted assets, and analytics for companies.

Public badges are free forever — that part never changes. Paid plans add identity, control, and insight around your badges, and keep shieldcn sustainable.

There are two paid tiers:

  • Plus — $8/mo, for individual maintainers who live in their READMEs.
  • Pro — $30/mo, for companies managing a brand across many repos.
Compare everything on the pricing page, or jump straight to Get Plus / Get Pro.

The core Pro promise

Change your brand once, every distributed asset updates. A Pro brand is a named set of style tokens plus hosted logos and fonts. Reference it by URL from your READMEs, npm pages, and docs sites. Edit the brand in the dashboard and every embed that references it re-renders on the next fetch — no PRs across 40 repos when the company rebrands.

Change acme's color, logo, or font in the dashboard, and that badge — and every other ?brand=acme embed anywhere — follows.

How billing works

Billing runs through Polar as the merchant of record (it handles global tax). Checkout, upgrades (Plus → Pro), and cancellation all happen in the Polar customer portal, linked from your dashboard.

Plans are org-scoped: a subscription entitles an organization (your company or team), and every saved README, brand, and analytics view belongs to that org. Create or switch orgs from the account menu.

Grace handling: if a subscription lapses, your brands and saved READMEs go read-only but keep serving — shipped badges never break, and you can still open and export everything. Editing resumes when you re-subscribe.

Next steps

  • Managed brands — create a brand and reference it by URL.
  • Hosted assets — host logos and fonts at stable URLs.
  • Analytics — see where your badges render.
