Saved badges

Build a reusable library of your favorite badges — save one once, drop it into any README with a click.

Your saved badges library is a personal, cloud-synced collection of single badges. Configure a badge once, save it, and reuse it anywhere — no re-configuring the same badge across a dozen repos.

Saving a badge

Two entry points, both one click:

  • Badge builder (landing page) — configure a badge, then hit Save badge under the copy output.
  • Studio — in a badge row's inspector, click the bookmark on any badge to save it, or Insert saved badge to drop one from your library into the current row.

Each saved badge stores its full configuration (path + every style param) plus a rendered snapshot, so the library thumbnails without re-hitting the badge engine.

Reusing a badge

From the dashboard library you can:

  • Copy the Markdown for any saved badge.
  • Insert it into a README from the Studio's badges inspector — it lands as a fully editable badge, not a frozen image.
  • Delete it (READMEs that already embed its URL keep working).

Deleting a saved badge only removes it from your library — any README that already references its URL is unaffected.

Data source

Saved badges live in your shieldcn account (Postgres), scoped to you. On a lapsed subscription they go read-only but keep serving — nothing is lost.
